Shortly after this show Max sued Kenneth Frankel, the gallery owner. "I can tell you there`s no substance to any of his claims," said Frankel, who first met Max at a party in New York in 1971. "It's hard to say why Peter does what he does. I happen to think Peter is a great artist. I thought of him as a great friend." Some said that it was the envy of John Lennon's hit show that followed the Max show. Max denied this claim.
Interesting piece of graphic art history and a superb example of Peter Max's unique simplicity of line.
